Focusing On the Center to Keep Your Eyesight Sharp

If you can see objects very clear means that your eyesight is perfect.  This is referred as Center Fixation and it means that whatever you see in the middle of your visual field is what you can see perfectly. Good eyesight works when you look at objects directly and don’t have to shift your head or eyes on your side to focus.

However, your tendency is to look at the side of the object just to see it clearly when your vision is off. You can try this theory and find out what’s your current condition. Look for a piece of paper with a small print on it. Look at the words straight on and then move your head to the side until you can clearly read the print. Now turn your head one way and then the other until you locate the best position for reading the fine print clearly. So is your eyesight straight on or to the side?

The retina of the eyes is located in the middle of the eye and it’s full of small light sensing rods. This part is known as the fovea centralis and is the part of the eye created to get the best line of eyesight. If you have to tilt your head to the side to just see clearly then the fovea centralis is not functioning properly.  The fovea centralis may in some cases be even switched off. As a part of its defense against external dangers or stress, this part can shut down in order for it to protect itself. If it is switched off, your vision may not be as clear as it should be.

Your vision can also be influenced by our feelings and emotions. Center fixation could be improper due to negative feelings we are keeping inside. Negative experiences, memories or people can cause our eyes to turn away and prevent direct pressure. A lot of eyesight problems are sometimes just in our heads. Knowing how to deal with these difficult situations in a calm way can be hard, but it’s needed for you to have better eyesight. Each situation should be examined at and faced directly, not something to run away from.

Just by simply knowing how the eyes work can greatly help you in using them properly. Keeping your eyes to focus on things directly can help keep your eyes relaxed and prevent eye strain.
