The Relationship Between Your Mind, Vision and Glasses

Our vision plays a very important part in our memory process.  We can easily recall things better if the image processed is clearly seen. The more relaxed our eyes are, the better we can absorb the image. Excessive strain and stress on the eyes are the major causes of almost all problems and disorders of the eyes.

The eyes and the brain work closely together as a team. The image has to be first captured by the eyes and then focus on the size, colors and shape. The brain then interprets the information that is seen and then stores it for recall later on. Objects that we see every day only take just a few seconds to be interpreted and remembered. New objects can take a bit longer. The more focused the eyes are on an object the stronger the memory can become. When looking at a new image, pay close attention to the lines around it, the colors, borders, shape, size and everything else that can make remembering easier later. Of course, the more relaxed your eyes are, the faster your mind can process and memorize these new items.

Focusing too hard or looking on objects that don’t really interest us can cause unnecessary strain and can be hard to recall them later. In order for you to maximize your memory, the object must first be viewed in a relaxed and calm manner. Below is a quick exercise that you can try for you to get your brain and eyes relaxed and work together perfectly.

The first thing you have to do is to look for a comfortable position; this could be while sitting in your favorite couch or lying flat on the floor. Whatever your choice, make sure that your spine is straight and your hands are relaxed at your side. Then, close your eyes and imagine the image of then numbers 5 all the way to 0 in your mind. Exhaling, try to see clearly the 5 in your mind. Then relax and exhale completely by letting all the air go out from your lungs until you will naturally take the next breath.

Let your lungs to fill completely with air and this time imagine the number 4. Again, imagine the number clearly while you exhale. Try to see the lines, the color and the shape; don’t stop imagining the number until all the air has gone out of your lungs and take the next breath that will come naturally. Repeat this exercise until you get to 0.

Over time, you can be able to picture the images in your mind better and you can feel calmer along the way.
